Eye Care at Harbin Clinic

Your vision is one of your most important senses. This is why Harbin Clinic Eye Center employs both ophthalmologists and optometrists, ensuring comprehensive, integrated care.

Optometrists are experts in diagnosing and treating patients who have a wide range of eye conditions and diseases by prescribing medications, corrective lenses and contact lenses.

Harbin Clinic Eye Center has the expertise to manage a wide array of eye conditions, including:

  • cataracts
  • glaucoma
  • corneal disease

What’s the difference between optometrists and ophthalmologists?

Optometrists perform primary health care for the eye such as:

  • eye exams
  • disease detection
  • prescribing eyeglasses and contact lenses

Ophthalmologists diagnose and treat patients with eye conditions and diseases. They also have the ability to prescribe medications and perform surgical procedures.

By working with both optometrists and ophthalmologists, we can provide our patients with expert care throughout every stage in their treatment journey.

Ophthalmologists have advanced training in diagnosing and treating patients who have a wide range of eye conditions and diseases by prescribing medications or performing surgical procedures.

When should you visit an eye doctor?

Harbin Clinic Eye Center encourages our patients to have eye exams at least once a year. Many medical conditions such as diabetes, thyroid disease and hypertension are often initially detected and monitored with the help of regular eye exams. In addition, many serious eye conditions have no early symptoms and benefit from early intervention.
